Our History
Macomb Travel Center was founded over 35 years ago specializing in Individual and Group travel. Located in downtown Macomb, our main office is conveniently located in the Macomb Amtrak Station. In 2005, we opened our second location in Bushnell, Illinois. In 2007, we opened our third location at Western Illinois University, located in the Student Union at the center of campus.
Our Agents have over 45 years experience in the Travel Industry. Our Agents have completed over 1000 hours of training and are Certified as Specialists in over 100 Destinations. Macomb Travel Center is recognized as one on the nations top producers for Amtrak with over 77,000 passengers annually. Amtrak has awarded Macomb Travel Center the prestegious Golden Spike Award for the last 25 consecutive years, highlighting our Service and Sales.
Macomb Travel Center has established the motto, "Customer Service above all else." All sales agents are trained to handle each request courteously with clients' special requests and desires in mind. Many satisfied and repeat clients, world wide, give us the gratification and incentive of continued service as their valued clients. Along with the necessary ARC and IATAN business, bonding and insurance qualifications, Macomb Travel Center is a long-standing member of the American Society of Travel Agents, Airline Reporting Systems, Cruise Lines International Association, as well as a member of the world-wide consortium, TravelSavers.
What we do
Macomb Travel Center is a full-service travel agency handling all phases of individual, group, and corporate travel. Not only do we package our own tours, we sell all nationally-advertised programs with companies such as Apple Vacations, Collette Vacations, Disney Vacations, MLT Vacations, Funjet Vacations, Globus Tours, Pleasant Holidays, Tauck Tours, to name a few.
As an official Agency member of the Cruise Lines International Association, we sell all the major cruise companies, a few of which are Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, Disney, Holland-America, NCL, Princess, Regent Seven Seas and Cruise West.
